Deep At FullTilt's $17,000

"Someone please slap me"! Once again today i was able to get deep in an online MTT. This time it was the FullTilt Poker's $17,000 with a $24.00 buy-in. I was able to make the 1st hour with a double stack of 6000 right before break time.

After the second hour i was able to build up a slightly above avg stack. And then heading into hour number three i was solidly in 9th place with 89 player left. I was feeling very good about making another final table.

Then i pick up AQo in #2 position and raise to 4000. The small blinds pushed to around 11,000 for me to call. I make the call and the flop come Q-J-T giving me top pair and top kicker. Now this is where my lack of MTT skill comes into play.

Had i taken my time i would have just bet half the pot. But instead i pushed all-in;And ofcourse the guy calls with JJ for trip Jacks leaving me praying for a major suckout.

It's just another lesson learned for me as i am still learning the ropes for MTT play. All in all i was pretty happy with my results; But i still feel that i have a very long way to go!

I decided to play this tourney very strongly early and it paid off somewhat. I was basically looking for the chance to double up before the 1st break and i was able to do so.

Tilt has another tourney starting in 2 hrs or so with the same buy-in. I am really interested in playing in this one also. I have run pretty bad in the sng's lately but to my own fault to be honest.

I feel pretty good about the 2008 poker season; As i feel that i will make alot of final tables and go deep in alot of tourneys. I have put in almost a year of just working on getting better and learning as much as i can.

PokerStars $20+2 $20,000 Guaruntee Poker Tourney

I use the 10% bankroll rule for a max 3 buy-in without a cash rolling system. Using this method my sessions can be anywhere from 3 hrs;And anywhere from 8-12 hrs. I am not so concerned with the theory of 30-40 max buy-ins per tourney entry.

To me this seems very one sided and leaves no room for other games such sng's for roll building. I pretty much will enter one or two Mtt's and if i am not able to cash i will fall back into the sng grind for a certain day of play.

Today i played the $22/$20,000 MTT on Stars. I was able to make the 1st hour pretty much with ease. But once the second hour of play started; I was faced with the situation of playing in the 10-13(M) area.

For the 1st few hands that i played i was able to take down a few small pots. But as

the blinds got alittle bigger this hand came up!

PokerStars Game #13943278250: Tournament #70445354, $20+$2 Hold'em No Limit - Level VII (150/300) - 2007/12/18 - 13:45:36 (ET)

Seat 4: SR8tAcEto5 (3270 in chips) Here my M is around 6.5 and i should be looking to play a pretty strong hand preflop. I also want to be the 1st to enter the pot as well. But the mistake that i made was getting into the pot period!!!!! QJ was a good enough hand to shove with in my position in a unopened pot. But the limper in front of me posed a very fucked situation for me.

I cannot tell you how many times i have made this mistake. I keep trying to drill this shit into my head; But i guess i am to slow or too stupid to realize the chip spewing right in front of me.

Bismarck777: calls 300 "This should have set off alarm bells right here!!!!" If i was holding a medium pocker pair such as 88+; This would have been an instant shove for me. Even if i held a hand such as KQ/AK/AJ(maybe) i would have pushed all-in.
