In the current session i have just entered a $5/18 man tourney on Poker Stars. I have found that it seems to run in about the same time as a regular SnG.Somewhere in the area of 1hr 30 min or so;With the top 4 being paid for thier efforts.I have now found enuff leaks in my Stt play, that i now feel comfortable stepping up to play Mtt's for now.
My reading skills have become very sharp here as of late also; And ofcourse this pleases me very much having so much improvement here as of late.Even my inflection point play has shown major improvement also.I can now mix up my play according to certian table situations, and i no longer play ABC Poker ect.
One of the biggest concept's of my game is learning to put a player on a range of hands accordig to thier position and skill level on the table. You will not believe how much this alone has helped to improve my game. Also i am no longer afraid to play in the smaller 180 tourneys anymore. My thinking was becuase there is so much bad play in them that the game is unbeatable. But i have found that any game is beatable if you are a winnning player.
Also if i had to give myself a grade on aggression as oppossed to the way i played at first.Im proboly at level 7 on a 10 point scale system, and before i was at most a 4. It still amazes me the difference being an aggressive poker player does for poker game and your image at the table. When i 1st began to make these aggressive moves i was being to aggressive. But now i am learning to use selective aggression thoughout tournament play as well.
SUCH AS THIS MOVE WITH POCKET NINES OVER THE TOP TO REPRESENT A BIGGER HOLDING.

THIS BRINGS US BACK TO AN OLD SAYING NEVER EVER GO BROKE IN AN URAISED POT!
I am now entered in another 5/18 mtt and if i bust out here im going back to sleep again. "Oh yeah",also i had a guy ask me why my roi% was so bad right now and my profit in the red. Well i told him;"Basicaly i tried playing on tables with the higher buy-ins thinking it was just bad platers at lower levels".But in fact what the problem was is that i just made alot of mistakes.
And this is not to take anything away from the players who play in the Stars Nightly $160 or anything; But i truly beleive what seperates a winning player and a losing player is winning player makes less mistakes.Just look at it this way,"If i play in 5 $20 buy-in STT and bubble them all that's $100 in negative roi%.If i do the same in a $5 buy-in STT it'$25;And not to mention poor bankroll management to boot!
Also the cash rewards are greater for obvious reasons at bigger buy-in events. You cash 5 20's it could be as much as $400.00 in winnings.Do the same for a $5 buy-in event it's around $110. So when i began to play poker this year fulltime i was very unaware of proper bankroll management solutions.
I truly believe that poker is a game of Skill;and more so becomes a game of luck for the weaker player in general.SO the more you learn about this game of poker;the less you will have to rely on luck AKA a coin flip. And in the end the main goal of being a winning player is to have no luck at all in my opinion!
This is why i am planning on reviseing my bankroll management system once again. As far as my game goes my limits are 20x the buy=(maximum down swing)-50%=(min threshold values for SAT tourneys). So in other words i will take a $100 bankroll to enter any $5STT/MTT=20x5=100/50=(the ammt in which i will have to play STT/MTT until my roll is above 50% or $50.00.
This is the formula that i am currently using and so far i have not gone broke with it.Ofcourse i don't play cash games as of now;But it is soon to come!
