I just played a hand real pussy and i feel that i should write about it here. I will post the hand and show and tell!
PokerStars Game #10384165522: Tournament #52610460, $5.00+$0.50 Hold'em No Limit - Level IV (50/100) - 2007/06/11 - 14:51:41 (ET)
Table '52610460 1' 9-max Seat #4 is the button
Seat 1: kloning (9230 in chips)
Seat 2: whocando (1435 in chips)
Seat 4: SR8tAcEto5 (1475 in chips)
Here i am in pretty good shape despite the big stack. I have played good solid poker and we are now in the bubble phase; And i am all to familar with this situation. Basicaly you get in first and make a continuation bet on the flop. If you are called you make a educated guess and move forward.
Seat 8: GIG29 (1360 in chips)
GIG29: posts small blind 50
kloning: posts big blind 100
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to SR8tAcEto5 [Ah 5d]
Even though i am fairly new to short table play;I have recieved enough advice to play this hand very strong.
whocando: folds
SR8tAcEto5: raises 200 to 300
GIG29: folds
kloning: calls 200
*** FLOP *** [2c Ad 7h]
This is a good flop for me because it is a rainbow flop and i have position. Where i made the mistake is not giving my hand any credit here. Instead of making a solid continuation bet;In fear i check the flop like a bitch!
kloning: checks
SR8tAcEto5: checks
*** TURN *** [2c Ad 7h] [8d]
kloning: bets 300
SR8tAcEto5: raises 400 to 700
Now i have no imformation on this hand at all and i reraise in the dark. Had i bet the flop he may have folded, and i would have takn down the pot. Also i have to put myself in his shoes as to what hand he has put me on as well. It's very true i could have flopped a set and appear to be slowplaying. But with his stack being so huge im sure with his reraise he was not going to fold.
I did feel i had the best hand at this time; But the lesson here is. If i would have bet the flop and then pushed the turn,he more than likely would have folded realizing he was behind no matter his stack size.
kloning: raises 400 to 1100
SR8tAcEto5: raises 75 to 1175 and is all-in
kloning: calls 75
*** RIVER *** [2c Ad 7h 8d] [7d]
*** SHOW DOWN ***
kloning: shows [7s 9s] (three of a kind, Sevens)
SR8tAcEto5: shows [Ah 5d] (two pair, Aces and Sevens)
kloning collected 3000 from pot
Even though this appears to be a bad beat it actualy was not! Maybe i could cry if he pushed all-in on the flop after i bet and hit his 7. But here i have no beef becuase i played this hand horrible. Not only did i give him a free card to beat me. I did nothig to protect my hand; While also making a big stack move with a short stack against a big stcked player. With no fold equity to fight the amolaly this move proves to be one for the donkeys!!!
*** SUMMARY ***
Total pot 3000 | Rake 0
Board [2c Ad 7h 8d 7d]

THE MORAL OF THE STORY???
