MTT Wrap Up After Four $27.50's

Well so far i have played in four $27.50 $25,000's on Poker Stars. So far i am at a stalemate as far as my success is concerned. In my 1st cash i was able to get pretty deep going out in 56th place. And in the second cash i was taken out in 111th.

I feel that my sng skills have helped me alot playing in these; But in the same affect i found myself short stacked early in a few of these. My game is basicly making the right moves that are correct moves to make.

I play the odds/position/player reads/M/ect. I also base my game and actios according to my M as well as the avarage stack in the tourney. What i have found that works for me is that early on i like to play small pots with big M and low blinds.

I will make it 3x the bb utg with hands like JTs/89s/JQs ect. The object of this move is to see a cheap flop from early;with a late position hand. This is not a low M move for me. And i will only pick up these hands a few times early on.

I will not play a big pot with these hands;but i will sometimes make a c-bet on what appears to be a harmless board or vice-versa.It is all player dependant and i have have success with this move.

I will also play any suited connector in the c/o and on the button; That i am getting 5:1 or 6:1 odds to call. These are the two moves that i am playing with right now.

One big hole in my game that i have found in Poker Tracker is that i call too many bets on the river! I have no big problems preflop or on the flop doing this. But it seems that i find myself even in sng's calling too much on the river.

To curve this problem i have decided to push on the turn more when i feel that i am ahead. I have found that most of the time when i push preflop and push the flop and get called;Even though i feel that i am ahead. I often check the turn and then call on the river.

This is an obvious problem that i have to fix fast. It seems that i am playing the last two streets backwards.

On the bright side i have noticed that once the AVG(M) is 10;It is usually time to do two things. First i compare my current M with the AVG M and if i am pretty close such as 7 or 8 i feel pretty good about my chances.

Once my M reaches half of the AVG of 10 M's. I will then be looking to shove once my M hits 5 or half of the 10AVG. Also once the AVG M is 10 i will downsize my betting to 2.5xbb.

It just makes perfect sence that if everyone has an Avg M of 5 or 6. It doesn't mean that the whole table is going to shove with anytwo;Or everyone in the tourney as that matter.

I feel that my middle game is play is very solid; As my end game had only been tested in the sng arena's. I have over 1800 sng's under my belt so i have confidence in my end game as well.

I have and i still read Harrington Vol's one/two and three. But i honestly have not read volume one as i have two and three! I believe that this has alot to do with some of my problems early on.

I purchased volume one after reading the other two books. And i also have misunderstood what players mean when they say play tight early on. Yes i look for premium hands early on; But i also look to play middle hands with good position and seeing a few flops cheaply.

I would really like to get an idea of how most peeps play Mtt's early on from a personal level.I would like to hear from players and not an article!
