So far i have played the $8rebuy on Stars for three days now. I have found myself not having a problem making the 1st hour;As the same can be said for the $22 20,000 on Stars a well.
It just seems to me that i am having problems when my M is in the 10 range. Once implied odds have pretty much gone to hell i tend to open up my ranges. Today i plan on doing alittle homework however, and address this problem very quickly.
For example for two days now in the $8 rebuy,i have began with 3000 in chips. I like to play this tourney as though it was the $27.50 $20,000 on steriods. I just plan on getting it in good with AK/KK/QQ and maybe JJ all-in.
Then usually i will attempt to make the 1st break with around 6000 in chips+ the add-on. So far things have gone pretty well in that department; But as far as the 2nd hour heading into the third i have problems.
It is best when i have an above avg stack or an M of 15+ that i will play small in the latter blinds in the tournament. For two days now in the 8R i have lost with JTs or off all-in UTG with an M of less than 10 .
I beleive that i have been playing abit to desperate in these situations as i have run into AA and KK in both situations. I am starting to feel by experience that this has been a negative EV shove from UTG with a short stack at a full table.
Although i understand that i will sometimes get lucky making this move. I have to look for another option when faced with this inflection point decision. So i will spend today hitting up the $8R and the $15,000 $10+1 10 min blinds tourney. And afterwards i will play a 9 man sng to keep the roll steady or call it a day.
Right now i have just completed a $10 9 man sng that i have taken 1st place in for $45. SO this allows me to play the $11.00 $22,000 tonight or the $27.50 on Stars. For the time being though i think i will take a shot at the $22,000 or find a $22 buy-in Mtt;That will maybe offer a smaller feild to play against.
